Speaking after the departure of Lord Howe from the Department of Health, Claire Ward, chair of Pharmacy Voice, said:
“Earl Howe was a strong supporter of community pharmacy, and was instrumental in setting up the Pharmacy and Public Health Forum. He was an advocate of Healthy Living Pharmacies, and Summary Care Records, and we are grateful for his work and commitment to the sector. Pharmacy Voice hopes that whoever replaces Lord Howe will have an equal understanding to the role that community pharmacy can play in supporting primary care and improving public health. On behalf of its members, Pharmacy Voice also commits to positively engaging with the individual taking on the pharmacy work-stream once this has been confirmed.”
